EARTHQUAKE

Earthquakes include the changes in the earth's crust and releases seismic waves that go through the earth.  most injuries from an earthquake come from falling or even flying objects. This means to stay safe and aware for flying TVs, lamps, glass, bookcases, etc. A way to stay safe you need to go down under your hands and knees, and this lowers your chances of the earthquake nocking you over, but you still have room to move. COVER YOUR HEAD AND NECK hopefully your entire body while your under a sturdy structure(such as a table) until the shaking stops. Always be prepared to move along with your sturdy structure or shelter. Even how beautiful it might be DO NOT STAND IN THE DOORWAY, you are way safer under a sturdy structure. Remember this chant in your head if you ever come across an earthquake: Drop, Cover, Hold On. Quicky move from glass related objects and hanging items, grab something if you can to sheild your head. Turn off the stove if it is on and take cover. If your in bed, stay there and hold or grab on while protecting your head with a pillow (you are less likely to be hurt when you stay where you are). Also do not roll on the ground incase of glass on the floor. Stay safe during an earthquake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
